Commonwealth Business Forum Honors Women Leaders at Johannesburg Awards Ceremony

The Commonwealth Business Forum celebrated women leaders at a grand awards ceremony in Johannesburg, with acting Mayor Sizakele Masuku and other dignitaries honoring outstanding contributions to business and leadership.

Johannesburg, 17th August 2024 — The Commonwealth Business Forum hosted an illustrious Business Awards ceremony at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg, celebrating the achievements of exceptional business leaders from diverse sectors. In alignment with Women’s Month, the evening was dedicated to recognizing the contributions of women in leadership and business, underscoring their pivotal role in shaping the future of the economy.

Acting Mayor Her Worship Sizakele Masuku opened the awards ceremony, expressing gratitude to the Commonwealth committee for selecting the city of Ekurhuleni as the host for this 2nd Annual Commonwealth Business Summit and Excellence Awards. She pledged her unwavering support for future Commonwealth activities.

The event attracted a distinguished audience, including Nomfundo Mcoyi, founder and CEO of Cebolethu Group, who was honored for her remarkable impact in the business world. The ceremony also garnered attention from notable figures like Mandla Mandela, nephew of the late former President Nelson Mandela, who attended with his wife.

A standout moment of the evening was the recognition of Nerusha Sadapal, a dynamic entrepreneur from Durban and founder of Visual Networks South Africa. Sadapal was celebrated as a trailblazer in the Television and Film Industry, particularly for her work in empowering youth through filmmaking. As the leader of the upcoming 48 Hour Film Festival in Durban on 27th September 2024, Sadapal has been instrumental in nurturing young talent and fostering creativity within the industry.
