Tickets are now officially on sale for the 14th annual Durban Fashion Fair (DFF), taking place from 17 to 19 September at the Durban Exhibition Centre.
Being held under the theme; “The Awakening”, this year’s showcase promises a dynamic celebration of creativity, culture, and couture, featuring 60 designers from across South Africa and beyond.
Hosted by eThekwini Municipality, the DFF continues to serve as a cornerstone of the City’s commitment to developing and promoting the creative industries. The platform showcases a diverse range of fashion from streetwear and suiting to children’s clothing and high-end eveningwear, offering audiences a glimpse into the future of design. The showcase will also feature a pop-up shop where attendees can buy ready-to-wear clothing.

Ticket options include:
- R120 for a single show pass
- R250 for a four-show evening pass
- R500 for a VIP pass with premium seating and hospitality for four shows in one evening
- R500 for a full three-day pass granting access to all shows.

Councillor Thembo Ntuli, Chairperson of the City’s Economic Development and Planning Committee, encouraged residents to support the event and the local fashion sector. “We urge the public to go out, buy their tickets, and support our designers, especially the 17 mentees who have worked tirelessly over the past few months to prepare for this moment to launch their careers. This showcase is a celebration of exposing local talent and stands as a testament to the City’s investment in creative excellence.”
Each evening’s programme runs from 6pm to 9pm.
The opening night, 17 September, showcase features the following designers: Black Excellence Clothing Brand, DFANT, Carita Adams, Eagle Haute Couture, Iqasha House of Fashion, Ntsasa Creation and Trading, Karen Monk Klijnstra, Ezobkhosi Designs, Phumzist, Saneps Techwear, AZM Fashion Creations, Earth Tones Designs, Flott Duka, S.H.I.L.K, ZAH Creation Couture, Eagle Eye Clothing, SM Creations, Curved Indlovukazi, INkosana, UP_Phelele, and Paul Kotini.
On 18 September, the featured designers include: Modesta, Nkosazane, Enhle Babes Couture, Ulolisa, Sistas Felas, Yatsar, Afrodiziaq Progrtto, Zulu Madame, Mphosh Brands, Vyagor Louvre, Jado Mjadu, Zola Ndlovu, Nomalawee, Monarch Detailer, Precious Lulu Couture, Eullue, Zwandyy, Zerotolerance Luxury Streetwear, Nox Couture, and Zamaswazi.

On the final evening of the DFF showcase on 19 September, the spotlight will be on the DFF Class of 2025, as 17 mentees debut their original creations developed over several months. This show has been described as inspiring and marks a significant milestone for emerging talent. Aside from the mentees, the finale will also feature established designers including: Vallure, EYC Couture, Victor Fashion Kingdom, DUKE “Clothe Your Soul,” Sibu Msimang, Kireshen Chetty, Mita-N-Dzyns, Karla Lortan, and Sompire Femme by Somizi. International designers from Namibia and Zimbabwe will also feature on the final night, highlighting the importance of collaborations to boost the clothing and textile sector as a collective.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Somizi Mhlongo said: “I couldn’t think of a more fitting platform than the iconic Durban Fashion Fair to officially launch and unveil Sompire Femme by Somizi. This collection celebrates women who embody power, elegance, and unapologetic self-expression. It is couture designed to command attention and inspire confidence.”
The Durban Fashion Fair will conclude with the DFF Recognition Awards on 26 September, honouring outstanding contributions to the fashion industry.
